Wayne Taylor Racing Readies For Mosport After Rough Outing To The Glen

Wayne Taylor Racing is hoping they can drive their Konica Minolta Corvette DP to victory in Sunday’s Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at Mosport following a tough outing to The Glen last month.

Brothers Jordan and Ricky Taylor dominated much of the Sahlen’s 6 Hours of The Glen, however as rain came down in the final hour, Ricky lost control of the car and tapped the nose against an Armco barrier. The small shunt forced the team to retire the car, making for their second consecutive sixth place finish.

Now the brothers Taylor are hoping they can redeem themselves in Canada this weekend. They sit in fifth in the championship, 22 points behind Action Express Racing’s Richard Westbrook and Michael Valiante, so winning the final four races of the TUDOR United Sportscar Championship season will be crucial if they want to take home the championship.

“Unfortunately the championship appears to be out of our reach at this moment but our mindset doesn’t really change,” Ricky Taylor said. “We will try to win all of the remaining races while being aggressive throughout the rest of the season.”

The green flag will fly on the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at 12:05 p.m. this Sunday. If you’d like to cheer on Wayne Taylor Racing as we will be, the race will air on FOX Sports 1 and also on IMSA TV at IMSA.com.
