We all know at least one person who has regretfully parted ways with a car that they truly cherished. Fred Bibler went through this after he traded his 1955 Chevrolet convertible for a 1960 Chevrolet Impala hardtop, the reason being that he wanted a newer car to drive to his high school graduation. Ah, to be young and impulsive.
Fred’s wife, Patricia, knew how much her husband had loved his ’55 Chevy, and how much he missed having one. So, for their 20th wedding anniversary, she decided to locate several different ones, and wound up picking a 2-door sedan model that was a barn find. When she showed the car to Fred, and offered to get it for him as his gift, he was stunned.
“I was very surprised she took the time to look for it and find it and offer it to me. She looked at about 20 different cars that she thought I might be interested in,” he noted. Now that’s love, folks.
It has been 32 years since Fred received his tremendous gift, and during the course of that time he’s worked hard on making it the car that it is today. We think it has surely paid off, as the car looks absolutely fantastic. We would even go as far as saying that this car looks as good as one that you’d see at a Barrett-Jackson show.

I had a ’55 Chevy Convertable … same colors as shown and it was a great car for its time.
Even though I own a 5th Gen Camaro, I’d love to have my ’73 RS again!
Had a ’56 Chevy Bel Aire convert. Traded it for my first Corvette. A white, ’58 fuelIe, both tops, 4 speed trans….Back then they were my drivers. Would be nice to have both of them now..
Had a 1957 white Ford Fairlane 2-Dr with a Continental Tire Kit, wide white walls. Neatest car imaginable – smashed it up front and back in a snowstorm when the car was only 2 years old. It was never the same after the collision shop repaired the damage. Sure would like to have it again. OR my old 1955 Chevy 2-door model 210 with 3-gears on the steering shaft. Drove it while in the Army but it eventually decided it did not like the miles and speed I was driving on the NY State Thruway
