Stolen 1977 ProStreet Camaro Recovered Thanks To Public Tips

Here’s proof owning a distinctive muscle car has its advantages.

A 1977 ProStreet Chevrolet Camaro was reported missing in Bloomingdale, MI, and thanks to tips from the public the distinctive Camaro was recovered just hours after it was first reported missing.

Funny enough, the vehicle recovery was also due in part to the incompetence of the thieves following the robbery itself, as they couldn’t resist showing off the their latest acquisition, according to WIN 98.5.

Local police haven’t detailed exactly what happened, only to say the vehicle was recovered in Allegan County.

The car was initially stored in a large white trailer at a property in Bloomingdale, but after this ordeal we’d imagine the owner is keen to find new spot to store it. Apparently, the owner hadn’t checked on the car in two months. And when he went to check it earlier this week the trailer and its cargo were gone.

Hopefully, he’ll now be more inclined to actually drive his second-generation Camaro, rather than leave it to collect dust. However, he’ll still need to find a way to store it, as the white trailer has not yet been recovered. And to think… it didn’t even have OnStar.

A far-too-tall Ontarian who likes to focus on the business end of the auto industry, in part because he's too tall to safely swap cogs in a Corvette Stingray.
