Does The 2015 Cadillac Escalade Hold Its Own Off-Roading?: Video

The Fast Lane Truck has decided to answer a question no one in their right mind who owns a 2015 Cadillac Escalade would ask: can the 2015 Escalade go off-roading?
Yes, and no.
To put in briefly, TFL Truck walked away pretty darn impressed at how well dampened the suspension with massive 22-inch wheels and rubber made for parking-space seeking. They didn’t take the 2015 Escalade to the same trails a Wrangler would enjoy, but they did encounter slopes with rocks ranging from three- to six-inches high. And the Escalade tackled them head on despite it’s extraordinarily low ground clearance.
They also call the interior, where one spends most of their time with a vehicle of any nature, the “best American interior sold in the United States.” That’s saying a lot, as there are plenty of domestic manufacturers who would love a piece of that crown. But the 2015 Escalade is pretty buttoned up inside, and we’d have to agree with them.
So, without further ado, check out some soft-roading action in a 2015 Cadillac Escalade.

I love the Escalaade
Nice to see that the Escalade can handle what the guy put it through . I had to laugh a bit though because that is probably the dirtiest you will EVER see an Escalade . And I do agree with how well the interior is . Although I haven’t driven one I did sit in one at my dealership waiting for my SRX’s oil change . I’m 6’5″ and had plenty of legroom sitting in the drivers seat . And the ergonomics were great for me . The execution of the dash to seat ratio is spot on . The interior just screams luxury . The seat are better than my LazyBoy in the den . And the leather is the best Iv’e ever sat on .
Then it was time to go get my SRX , now I love my Crystal Red SRX but what a diff. between the 2 SUV’s . Night n day ! That may be why I am so critical of Cadillac at times , Cadillac can do such an exellent job with the Escalade why can’t that happen to their cars . Its the attention to detail that matters , plus the bean counters need to stay out of the way .
What a ridiculous test. ANY vehicle including a Civic to a Corvette could drive on a dirt road.
If you haven’t noticed, that road is less of a leisurely dirt road in the country and more of a logging trail.
The real test would be whether the soccer mom @ the wheel could do it while talking on her phone, not spill her latte or chip her nails, or lose her temper @ the entitled 8yr old soccer girls in the back seats…
Just on price point alone, there should be a night and day difference between the Escalade an a SRX. You’re talking Cadillac’s current halo vehicle vs a mid-tier vehicle. The appointments on the SRX are comparable to other luxury vehicles in its price range. Nevertheless, I’m sure the new XT5 will be better appointed than your current SRX.
