Cadillac is now offering a new Black Sport Appearance Package on the 2015 ATS Sedan (pictured), adding to the new ATS Midnight Special Edition Package.
Carrying RPO code PDY, the $3,350 package is an LPO-level option for the ATS 2.0T and 3.6 V6 that includes the following equipment:
- 19-inch gloss Black premium painted aluminum wheels, LPO (5XZ)
- Black chrome rear trim, LPO (VNI)
- Rear spoiler, LPO (5V5)
- Black chrome grille, LPO (5XR)
- Black wheel locks
The package is available now on the Cadillac ATS online configurator. Update: Cadillac seems to have removed the package from the online configurator, but it is still available in the 2015 ATS Sedan order guide.
The GM Authority Take
Having configured a 2015 ATS Sedan with the new Black Sport Appearance package, we think it looks great on the ATS and finally gives those customers who appreciate black accents on their vehicle an option that is outside of plasti-dipping.
However, we would add the following two items to truly complete the look: a blacked-out DLO (daylight opening) moldings as well as black wing mirror caps. Here’s to hoping the package will gain these features for the 2016 Cadillac ATS.
Notes:
Currently, the Black Sport Appearance Package is available in any trim level of the ATS Sedan. However, we don’t see why the same blacked-out parts can’t be applied to the ATS Coupe.
The package requires the following exterior colors:
- Crystal White Tricoat (G1W)
- Red Obsession Tintcoat (G7E)
- Radiant Silver Metallic (GAN)
- Black Raven (GBA)
- Black Diamond Tricoat (GLK)
The package is not available with:
- Any other RPO/LPO wheels
- Luxury Sport Package
- Other Special Edition packages
- All-Wheel-Drive ATS models (due to the 19-inch wheels)

I’m not Sorry for running this into the dirt, but you can Add whatever you want to the Cadillac Play List, but if NO ONE knows about it, then it will just be another Add On sitting on the Lots!!! #firetheheadofcadillacmarketing
The blacked out look is definitely hot right now . Doing this to the ATS is just the right car to get the car club guys interested . And I agree with jbisrite , lets see the car in ANY advertising media . Running a full page ad in Car and Driver or Motor Trend isn’t enough . And before I get in trouble , I subcsribe to both magazines , I wasn’t dissin’ them . I mean runa 15 second ad during the all-stars game or Miss Americas pageant . Two big markets right there ! !
I agree, get these cars onto screens. Just the other day I finally see a dare greatly ad with a ats in soho like the ct6 and srx one but which model do they use? It just looks like a bland black one with base wheels. The car used in the ads should be the range topping ats not the V but at least the luxury model
I’ve always thought the ATS looked weird and awkard.
Could you be more specific? Do you think this option will make it look more acceptable? What do you find awkward about it? Have you driven it? Which cars do you find interesting and graceful?
I’ve always found the rear ends on Caddys to be ugly. I know they are trying to give a nod to history, but it’s obviously not working to sell cars. The huge c pillar and tiny rear window is what gives the whole back it’s “awkwardness” IMHO, not to mention terrible visibility. And let’s be honest, what sells a luxury car is #1 prestige #2 killer design…Caddy doesn’t have either YET…they are getting there in the looks dept, slowly.
I sorta have to agree. The rear lacks dramatic effect. The monotone lamps are also a letdown.I’ve repeatively heard people say they avoid Caddy because the front and rear designs dont really match. Its time to get the designers and engineers on the same page…
Now that’s what I’m talking about! I see so many of Cadillac’s competitors offering a smorgasbord of options. If they want to be taken seriously, they have to follow and act more swiftly. Doesn’t their current ad campaign extol the benefits of Daring Greatly? This is a smart way to allow the customer to personalize their Caddys. I’m due for a new car in February 2017, I’m eager to see how customization evolves. By the way, I think the ATS and CTS should be offered standard with 18 inch wheels! I think the performance, premium and higher models should have 19 inch wheels standard.
the ATS is vary wedged…thats what is awkerd about it….I mean most of today’s Caddy’s
I like it except that it’s not available on the AWD models. Take the standard 18″ wheels that are part of the premium trim level, make some black, then offer this package with awd models also.
