Cadillac has just announced several new accessories for its vehicles, one of which is a body-color painted engine cover for the ATS and CTS families.
“Enhance the underhood appearance of your ATS with these intake manifold engine covers”, reads Cadillac’s description. The LPO (dealer-installed) accessory carries RPO code VYX and has a suggested price of $395. And though it’s nothing groundbreaking, it presents one more way for ATS and CTS owners to customize their vehicles, an area in which Cadillac has traditionally lagged behind its German rivals.
And now the highly-important question: do you keep the stock black engine cover, get one of these new units to match your Caddy’s exterior, or take the cover off altogether and leave your engine exposed? Talk to us in the comments.

How bout announcing Real Marketing Support, that would be a Novel Ideal guys!!!! 😉
What’s more interesting is the V Sport logo on a 4 cyl engine cover…. Is Cadillac positioning V-Sport to be more of a counterpart to the AMG Sport and M products offered?
You target BMW and Mercedes but yet shove family sedan engines in it?
cause bmw does use 4 cylinders right?
Hoffa they are doing their own engines and will replace these once they are done. The new engines were just started last year and will not be ready for a little while longer.
Also this engine as I can tell you have never driven one Is very able. The one in my HHR can make it run 13’s in the quarter mile and 160 Mph plus top speed if the need arise.
Amazing what the GM tune can do with 23 PSI of boost.
Does it come already painted – or does it have to be painted by the dealer?
Now offer it for Corvette and Camaro, and put a realistic price point on them. $400 for 2 ounces of paint is a bit much.
Well…. It just shows that Cadillac will try anything cheap to sell their dissatisfied customers base a car that will have a slow selling 16 model year .
I thought this site was for GM enthusiasts. What makes you say that Cadillac’s customers are dissatisfied? Do you have a Cadillac? I have a 2014 ATS AWD Performance 2.0 turbo. It is a great car. I enjoy driving it and I have told many people that it is one of the most fun cars (to drive) that I’ve owned. In this price point, the competition offers many customizable options. While I personally have no interest in this option, I do expect Cadillac to remain competitive and consider what their customers want. I assume this option is the beginning of Cadillac offering much more customizations in the future.
This has been something I have pleaded for but this should be standard. Cadillac as long as they are using GM corporate engines need to dress them out different and to a higher level.
Hell Pontiac dressed even the 2.8 V6 up in the Fiero with powder coat and stainless fasteners in the 80’s,
