Austin Dillon’s Crash From The Radio Of Dale Earnhardt Jr Relives The Suspense

If you were watching the Coke Zero 400 race Sunday night, or have already seen the footage, you know what to expect. If you have not yet seen the wreck that took place right at the end of the race, brace yourself.

As Dale Earnhardt Jr. crosses the finish line of the NASCAR Sprint Cup series race, he immediately sees smoke rise from the cluster of cars behind him, followed by the #3 Chevrolet SS becoming air borne and sailing through the air into the retaining fence. A terrifying moment for any racer on the track, especially the driver of the car Austin Dillon. Despite a speed of 195 miles per hour, which decreased prior to impact with the fence, Dillon walks away from the accident with only a bruised tailbone and forearm.

Here’s a link to a video with Jr’s live reaction to it, you can hear the shock and horror in his voice. His crew member is the first to mention the victory, which shows just how taken back Jr was after seeing it all unfold right behind him.
