2016 Holden Colorado Snapped Suited Up In Camo Again

While the U.S. welcomes the 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine in the North American Chevrolet Colorado, Australia, and the entire world, are preparing for an all-new midsize truck. Holden and Chevrolet globally has used the turbo-diesel since 2013.

That’s why a Holden Colorado redo is much overdue. The ute market in Australia is fierce, and main competitors have already redesigned, and reengineered their product as the market continues to boom. Wheels have spied the 2016 Colorado dressed up in thick camouflage, hiding what appears to be much more than a subtle refresh.

We still can’t make out what’s going on with the headlights, but they seem to be production ready, along with a revised front grille. The eye-wandering camo does a great job at hiding the style lines along the side of the truck, but the rear seems to look fairly similar to what we’ve already seen from the global Colorado.

The 2016 Colorado is expected to go on sale in June of next year in the Australia market, with global launches likely around that same time.

  1. With a bigger engine bay, Holden might be able to save some defecting buyers with a Syclone-style HSV offering. Colorado has the chassis to handle it, but I’m concerned about clearance with a TTV6 or V8.

    1. The current ute can only just handle what its got now onroad so dropping something with 3 or 400bhp into it would be as disastrous as Toyotas attempt with their Hilux a few years ago. Lets hope the next model is at least as good as either the Ford Ranger/MazdaB50 or the VW Amarok in regards to not only both on and off road abilities but also fit and finish.
