Great power requires even greater traction. That’s a given. Luckily, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V will have plenty of traction thanks to its exclusive set of Michelin rubber.
Michelin officially announced the company would be the sole provider for tires on the 2016 CTS-V. The Michelin Ultra-High Performance Pilot Super Sport tires have been specifically tuned and engineered to compliment the sporting capabilities found in the 2016 CTS-V.
“The Michelin Pilot Super Sport that we jointly developed for the Cadillac CTS-V strengthens the strategic engineering initiative between our companies to provide the highest-possible performance experience to Cadillac drivers,” said Thom Roach, vice president of original equipment marketing for Michelin North America. “Similar to our exclusive fitment on the first-ever Cadillac ATS-V, CTS-V owners will enjoy a smoother ride, improved dry handling, excellent performance in the rain, low noise and long tread life.”
The Pilot Super Sports for the CTS-V feature an aggressive steel belt package, previously reserved for Michelin’s racing tires. The tires have been tested to provide superb wet and dry performance, and couple the livability of street-tire wear, with the performance of track-ready rubber.
Michelin has provided the tires for heavy-duty testing wherever the 2016 CTS-V has gone, including the car’s ultimate tests at the Nürburgring.
Ahh!! Gotta love those special order tires.
Um, these tires are the same, non-Z07 pkg, Z06 tires. So exclusive yes, but not just to the CTS-V
when does / did the CTS-V go on sale?
