2015 Chevrolet Enjoy Launches For The People Of India

General Motors has commented on India being one of the last untapped automotive markets on the globe. Despite withering sales, GM is set on turning the Chevrolet brand into a real bread winner in the country.

The 2015 Chevrolet Enjoy looks to take on the popular MPV market in India with refreshed styling, and more premium features than before to begin an upswing in the bowtie brand’s sales. Chevrolet calls the 2015 Enjoy the most versatile MPV on the market with a maximum amount of seating for eight adults, it should check off most Indian consumers’ wants and needs.

“The Chevrolet Enjoy continues to be the most value-for-money proposition in the compact MPV segment. With a host of refreshing new changes including a brand new three-spoke sporty steering wheel with audio controls, the new Chevrolet Enjoy is even more upmarket and appealing thereby addressing the dual needs for family travel and business use,” said Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director, General Motors India.

The premium enhancements are a major point for the 2015 Enjoy, as Chevrolet looks to its interior cabin to create a welcoming space for occupants with silver accents and more soft-touch materials than previously.

The exterior design receives a handsome nip-tuck with a new “three-dimensional grille,” and “leaf-style” fog lamps in the front. Chevrolet says the new style lines are meant to reflect the 2015 Enjoy’s newfound aerodynamics.

But style isn’t everything, and Chevrolet says the 2015 Enjoy will impress with its engineering and slew of engine offering. The 2015 Enjoy sits on a rear-wheel drive architecture with MacPherson struts in front, and a five-link rear suspension. Combined, India’s varied driving conditions should be handled with ease.

In the powertrain department, GM India’s next-generation Smartech gasoline and diesel engines round out the options, meeting low-emission standards. The 1.3-liter diesel engine makes 74 hp, with 127 lb-ft of torque arriving at 1,750 RPM. If petrol is your choice, the 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine will make 99 hp, but with a substantially lower torque rating at 96 lb-ft.

Chevrolet will offer the 2015 Enjoy with “Complete Care,” assuring low cost maintenance is available at any Chevrolet maintenance center.

Is India ready to enjoy Chevrolet’s latest people mover? Only the sales will tell.

  1. Hello Sean,

You should do your homework before you write such articles. Chevrolet launched the Enjoy compact-MPV in India in 2013, and has been facing dismal sales ever since.

Even with this update, it will be a dud. The Enjoy looks pale in comparison to its competition. Serves the company right, trying to sell a 5 year old Chinese product as an “upmarket and appealing” vehicle!

The people of India have better things to buy than the crappy Enjoy.
