1985 Chevrolet Silverado With 5.3L V8 Is The Perfect Summer Swamper

Summer is in full swing and there’s still plenty of time to get your hands on the perfect summer truck.

If that’s the case, this door-less 1985 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 short box should fit your, “I just wanna chuck a truck down some trails,” urge to a tee.

You get all the rock-crawling, mud-slingin’ goodies you need like a four-link suspension custom-made by the owner, TH400 transmission with shift kit, NP208 transfer case, a limited slip differential with rear 4:10 gears, and a 5.3L V8 engine lifted from a 2000 Chevy truck with 80,000 miles, according to the seller.

Slip into the racing bucket seats and you’ll notice it’s all business inside: You get a custom dash with a couple of aftermarket gauges and a two pronged, three-spoke steering wheel. And that’s about it.

The truck was listed on eBay for just $7,500 but it failed to draw a single bid before the auction closed. However, like many other cars and trucks that fail to sell, we suspect we’ll see this lifted, trail-ready ’85 Silverado at auction again soon.

A far-too-tall Ontarian who likes to focus on the business end of the auto industry, in part because he's too tall to safely swap cogs in a Corvette Stingray.
