1973 Chevrolet Van Receives Some LS7 Power: Video

Normally when tallying a list of what you’d like to see LS7 power in, a van doesn’t come to mind. But, Hot Rod Garage decided to tackle the project head on because they’ve plopped an LS7 V8 from Lingenfelter under the hood of this 1973 Chevrolet van project.

Previously, we brought you tips from the guys on how to maximize a budget paint job featuring this same van. The guys decided on a flat-red look, and added a few minor pieces to complete the retro, hot-rod van look including the grille.

With the engine installed, Hot Rod takes us through what exactly was required to make sure the mammoth powerplant sat and behaved in the 1973 Chevy van. The van still needs a proper transmission, though, but a few details on the Gearstar 4L80e transmission are provided towards the end of the episode.

With this 1973 Chevy van, it seems one of the world’s most unsuspecting sleepers has been birthed. Check out the details in the episode right down below.
