Watch This Donked-Out And Twin-Turbo Chevrolet Caprice Run The 1/8 Mile On 28s

When we first caught wind of a 1971 Chevrolet Caprice on 28-inch rims running the 1/8 mile we thought, “hmm,” followed by an “interesting,” But that wasn’t until we saw its powertrain, which consists of twin turbos bolted onto the LS2 motor said to be making over 1,000 horsepower. It’s not very often that we see a car rockin’ 28-inch rims and an 80 mm turbo. Then again, this isn’t your everyday Caprice.

Even so, we really wish there were time-slips available for these runs, because we’d like to know if the parachute on the rear was just for show, or if it was truly necessary to slow the car.

The car is also fitted with a few goodies from a C6 Z06, including front and rear brakes, the dash, gauge cluster, door panels, and steering wheel. It even has a custom 3-inch chromoly driveshaft. There’s no doubt that a lot of money and time went into this car, though we’d have to agree with LSXTV  in saying that the 28-inch Forgiato Pinzette wheels are simply not our cup of tea.

Watch this dubbed out donk rip down the track in the video. From what we can tell, it seems to cover a good amount of ground in 9 seconds (from 0:21 – 0:30). And remember to let us know whether you were impressed or still getting over the Pinzette wheels.

A car-loving millennial. We Are!

  2. Those big wheels are not my cup of tea. Seem he went the opposite of “Low riders” by wasting a ton of money on an old car, that he now probably needs a ladder to get in. Resale value? What does scrap junk go for now days?
