Watch The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro European Premiere At Goodwood: Video

As the mainstay of Chevrolet continues to scale back out of Europe to allow Opel to play the ever-important role, Chevrolet told those who gathered at their event at the Goodwood Festival of Speed the brand was still committed to the region. Though, they’re going to be committed in a bold, in-your-face type of manner.

The 2016 C7 Corvette Z06 made its debut in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and Chevrolet had previously teased a surprise for those in attendance. That surprise was the European premier of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro.

Those in attendance seemed ecstatic both cars have officially premiered in the UK, and for continent of Europe, but we can’t help but wonder what good it does since there is no right-hand drive program for either car. The Camaro is most likely out, which we reported previously, and intel from Bowling Green says a RHD Corvette is not feasible.

A lack of RHD may have been just one of the reasons Manchester United players had opted out of driving their Chevrolet loaner vehicles. But, we digress. Those across the pond, if you can deal with the American left-hand drive way of life, eat your hearts out.

  1. While I wish there was a RHD the question is how many in England would they really sell?

Now if they had this ready for South Africa and Australia too that would help but the cost of adapting vs. the total sales at this point are pretty tight.

I ponder the RHD was left out as this car was developed during the many changes that were taking place inside GM. If they were to do it today with the new management I suspect it would have had RHD.

Also as I suspected in the teaser the car is an RS V6, They did not send the SS.
