When Scott Dixon switched from his usual Target paint scheme to an Energizer one ahead last week’s Firestone 600 at Texas, he said he’d “been to victory lane with them three times before,” and was “looking for them to bring me some added luck.” Dixon ended up winning the race, so maybe the Jurassic World scheme he’ll be running in Toronto this weekend will help bring him similar success.
Dixon’s Jurassic World Chevrolet will debut when he takes to the track on Friday, the same day the movie will hit theatres. In case you’re not a movie buff, Jurassic World is Steven Spielberg’s highly anticipated follow up film to Jurassic Park and is one of the biggest movie releases of the summer.
“The Toronto race weekend is always great because of the local fan interest and the excitement of the city,” Dixon said. “Carrying the Jurassic World paint scheme just adds to it. It’s a classic movie series with a massive following and the timing for running this livery in step with the movie release couldn’t be better. We’ve had some good runs recently at Toronto and I hope we can do our part again to make it a successful weekend for everyone involved.”
Dixon has two wins under his belt in 10 starts at the Toronto Indy in addition to three podiums and seven top five’s. His most recent victory at the track came in 2013 when he swept the doubleheader weekend, winning from fifth in the first race and from pole in the second. He’s also never qualified outside the top 10 at the Canadian street course, so look for the Jurassic World car near the front of the grid this weekend.

The headline says Honda. That should be at Motorlix.com. The story says Chevrolet. Sam what up?
Thanks for the concern!
Scott Dixon’s a Chevrolet driver, and the GP at Toronto is called the Honda Indy.
Hope that clears things up!
