We know, we’ve said it a lot that some really off-the-wall crazy stuff ends up on the internet. File this one towards the top, though. The Pontiac Fiero was supposed to revolutionize the sports car segment with it’s mid-engine coupe design. Instead, they were known to be underwhelming, and catch fire.
Though, over the many years since the car’s passing, the Pontiac Fiero became quite the cult classic. But, we have never seen, nor heard of, any Fiero like this. This, ladies and gentleman, is a 1984 Pontiac Fiero featuring a 455 Oldsmobile big-block V8. Oh, and it’s supercharged for good measure.
Speed Society picked up on the video, which features a small cruise-in somewhere in Florida. The Home Depot orange Fiero caught the cameraman’s eye as it was passing through, and he had to get a better look.
The car has been totally rebuilt after the engine overheated (shocker) years ago. After it sat for some time, the owner said it was time to build it. And apparently this guy is one hell of a dreamer. He’s done all the work himself, minus the transmission, and says his next goal is to reinstall air conditioning for the Florida weather.
Enough of us rambling on about it though, you’ll want to hear it. Skip to the 5:19 mark if you want to pass on the awful interview of the owner, and want to hear the 1984 Fiero right away.

Neat car but old car and old video.
There are a few big block Fiero’s out there in pro stock form and even transverse mid engine. One that was built in the 80’s had a tunnel rammed 500 CID Chevy that got 4 miles per gallon and only had a ten gallon tank.
Another had a 455 Pontiac with a Riv trans axle.
If you look around there have been some real interesting engine combo’s out there. Also some that leave you wondering why?
Everybody copies from the little guy:( http://www.autoevolution.com/news/pontiac-fiero-with-a-supercharged-v8-is-seriously-cool-video-96308.html
The owner sounds like Dale Gribble from “King of the Hill”.
The car is alien urine color now that you mention it.
