Lamborghini Huracan VS Camaro ZL1: Which Gets Better Fuel Economy?

Not many people in the market for a new Lamborghini would give a hoot about MPG ratings, so this AutoGuide comparison between the Lamborghini Huracan and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 threw us off a little. According to data from Emissions Analytics, the Huracan achieves a real world rating of 17 miles per gallon, with the official rating of 16.6. This is just a bit higher than the ZL1’s rating of 16 MPG. So what?
Let’s say the Camaro was as “efficient” as the Huracan, with it’s 20 gallon tank it would be able to travel 10-15 more miles. We wonder if that would make it cost as much, $55K for a ZL1 seems very reasonable when compared to the Huracan’s price tag of $237,250. Essentially, the Lamborghini is a tiny bit more efficient, yet way more expensive. To note, the Huracan does have two more cylinders and about 20 more horsepower, too.
One could always make modifications to a ZL1 to have it run more conservatively, if they wanted more miles per gallon. But in that case they probably would have been better off buying a Camaro SS instead. Then again, you could buy one ZL1 that you soup up to race the Huracan in, and another that you tweak for maximum fuel efficiency, and still spend less than you would if you were to buy the Lambo. If, for some reason, you don’t think the ZL1 stands a chance performance wise, watch this ZL1 quarter mile run in less than 10 seconds.
