How To Turn A Regular Camaro SS Into A Camaro Z/28

If you can’t justify the purchase of a 2015 Camaro Z/28, you have options. Option one: make your 2015 Camaro SS look like a Z/28. Option two: make as close of a conversion as possible with the proper mechanical bits.
New GM Parts has compiled a list and infographic detailing exactly what is needed to transform a bare-bones 2015 Camaro SS into the track star that is the Camaro Z/28. Granted, there are a few things you can’t get unless it is a true Z/28.
The production 2015 Camaro Z/28 does without air conditioning, no sound deadening and no LED lighting in the name of weight-savings. We suppose if you were that concerned, this is possible to do, but why go through that trouble.
$28,000 later, you can have a nearly mimicked 2015 Z/28. That includes the LS7 engine, new gearbox, aero components and new suspension set up, plus a whole lot more.
For those looking to create a phantom Z/28, and merely mimic the looks of one, $1,600 will be your total. That gets you the rear-wicker spoiler, upper grille insert, rear diffuser and a few other odds and ends.
Should your heart desire this, head to the link here for a full break down of pricing on each item.

Except that $28,000 doesn’t include the carbon ceramic brakes, wheels, or Trofeo R tires, all of which will add a significant amount to that number.
Exactly
Even if you took any other car and tried to match the same performance and high level of tuning of the suspension it would cost you more than the Z/28 sticker price to do so.
While not cheap it would be difficult to reproduce the same results out of a performance catalog. The tuning knowledge of Mark Steilow and the technology GM employs is something most of us can not reproduce.
Unless you have a 2SS , RS 1LE.
You didn’t include the infographic which has a lot more information 😉
