Holden has an excellent track record of supporting its homegrown sport clubs, and has announced $250,000 AUD is up for grabs through the auto brand’s Home Ground Advantage program. The program lasts five years and, when all said and done, $5 million AUD will be donated.
Applications are being accepted now, with one lump grant of $150,000 AUD available, and $150,000 AUD to be parsed out in $10,000 increments.
Holden’s Chairman and Managing Director, Jeff Rolfs, said that Holden was thrilled to be launching the second round of Home Ground Advantage.
“The first round of our HGA program saw almost 1,600 sporting clubs around the country apply for a grant. The major grant winner, Maryborough Bears Football Club in Queensland, received $100,000 to rebuild their facilities and change-rooms and we were absolutely delighted to be able to support such a great local club. Rolfs said.
“Grass roots community sporting clubs are an integral part of Australian life, much like Holden, and being able to support them in this way is terrific.”
“Sporting clubs do so much for local communities; they give kids a sense of purpose, facilitate healthy activity and promote concepts like teamwork, sacrifice and discipline – not to mention give weekend warriors the chance to continue to live out their dreams.”
One unique way to send in an application is to submit a YouTube video, describing a particular sport club, and why the funds are needed. It also allows Holden to see the characteristics, and team spirit of a particular club.
“We really loved the YouTube clips that were sent in with applications in the first round and look forward to seeing what the clubs of Australia have for us in the next round,” Rolfs said.
Home Ground applications opened on June 1, with all applications closing August 31. Follow the link here for more information on how to apply.
