Going For A Drive In A 1979 Chevrolet LUV: Video

The 1979 Chevrolet LUV small pick-up is a truck that not too many people are familiar with. It is essentially an Isuzu Faster that was imported to the states and re-badged as a Chevrolet. Though the LUV is a cult classic at this point, GM and Isuzu have recently announced a new partnership that will badge medium duty trucks as Chevrolets.

This particular LUV truck has a bit of character to it, as you’ll see in the Regular Car Reviews video below. Thanks to a point-of-view camera angle, you’ll feel like you’re on a virtual ride of the truck. Here are some things to keep an eye out for as you watch.

The first cool thing about this truck are the Cadillac rims it’s sitting on. We feel they work well here. Another feature that we found to be quite awesome, but don’t recommend, is the Jack Daniels coolant overflow tank.

Lastly, the spinning skull shifter used to control the smooth shifting transmission captures the essence of this truck — a little rough around the edges but still runs like a champ. Watch the video for yourself, and let us know what you think of the little Chevrolet LUV.
