Scotland’s Dario Franchitti has won the Indianapolis 500 three times. Each of those times, the former IndyCar ace was awarded with the car which paced the race, netting him a 2007 C6 Corvette, a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS and a 2012 Chevrolet Corvette 427.
Freed from the demands of being a full-time IndyCar driver, Franchitti will bring his three pace cars out to the Concours of Elegance 2015 in Scotland on September 4th to the 6th. Their presence will remind show goers of Scotland’s success in motor racing all over the world, including Franchitti’s four IndyCar championships and his wins in the CART series.
“It’s brilliant to have a world-class Concours event taking place in Scotland, and I’m happy to be able to showcase my three Indianapolis 500 prize cars at the Palace of Holyroodhouse,” Franchitti said. “It’s a real honour to be able to contribute in just a small way to celebrating Scotland’s successful history in motor racing.”
A large array of important cars will be on display at the Concours of Elegance, which will also host a feature on legendary Scottish racing driver Sir Jackie Stewart. You may visit the show online for additional information.
