Corvette Daytona Prototype Lands In The Hands Of A Private Collector

We all have our eyes on a special vehicle. For some, that dream is easier attained than others. And not just because of financial reasons. Sometimes, we want something we really can’t have. For this gentleman, it was a Corvette Daytona Prototype.

DaytonaPrototype4, the newest member of Corvette Forum, didn’t join because of a shiny new 2016 C7 Corvette Stingray. Nope, he joined because he finally purchased his dream: a true Corvette DP racer.

The car is a bright-orange 2013 Corvette DP racer, and has deep connections with Bill Hubbel, who has his own racing team and competes in Daytona Prototypes, according to Corvette Blogger.

And when Hubbel asked if he’d like some seat time in his Corvette DP, happily said yes. Duh. Then, he says a 2013 Corvette DP happened to become available and “knew [he] had to have one.” Incredibly as the story goes, it’s chassis number four, and competed with the racing number four.

“[It’s] the same number I have been racing with since the late 80s,” he said. “It was meant to be!”

We wish him happy trails in his new toy, and we will remain extraordinarily jealous.
