They say you must become a defensive driver when taking to the streets. Although occasionally there’s simply nothing we can do to inhibit others’ poor choices behind the wheel. That goes for the man driving this white four-door sedan (we literally can’t get a make on the car because of the damage) who struck the blue C6 Corvette head-on, according to AZ Family. The accident occurred in Fountain Hills, Arizona.
The point of impact was so intense both cars caught fire, while a third vehicle received heavy damage. Bystanders saw the accident and dialed 911, and then proceeded to assist those involved in the crash out of their vehicles.
Paramedics rushed eight people to the hospital, and the driver and passenger of the C6 Corvette were life-flighted to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Maricopa County Sheriffs followed to later test the driver of the white sedan, Daniel Russell, for driving under the influence. Russell had indeed been drinking and driving and will be charged with DUI upon being released from the hospital.
We’re glad no one was seriously injured in this incident, and please, stay sober behind the wheel.
