2,400 HP C6 Corvette Is Perhaps Too Much Power

In a way, horsepower is a bit like bacon: You’re almost never satisfied with how much you have until, all of a sudden, you realize you’ve gone out of control.
And that’s exactly what the driver of this 2,400 hp twin-turbo C6 Corvette must have felt after his all-too-close encounter with a guardrail.
Back in March, the Corvette, along and hoards of other ridiculously over-powered metal, converged at TX2K15 in Texas, for the 16th anniversary of the high-profile drag-race event. And if this video were anything to go by, it would seem TX2K is packed with the most ferocious beasts we’ve seen this side of a lion’s den.
We get our first look at the boosted C6 as it’s leaving an event, but then the action quickly moves on to the street. The Corvette torches a few rivals who clearly don’t suspect the monstrous shove it generates, but after one big stab of throttle things turn seriously sideways (but not in the whimsical Paul Giamatti-on-a-wine-trip kind of way). Luckily, the driver saved it.
Take a look and then let us know– is there really such thing as too much horsepower?
