1,200 HP 1969 Camaro Faces 1,300 HP 2012 Camaro ZL1

This the great thing about being auto enthusiasts: you can whatever you’d like with your respected build. Some prefer to stick with stock, while other want to blow the doors off of quarter mile times. Today, we have a case of the latter.

Here we have a true battle of the ages: a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro vs a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 goes to battle with a whopping 1,300 hp, while the 1969 Camaro makes do with only 1,200 hp. The results aren’t conclusive on the first run, with both cars staying nearly neck-and-neck the entire time. But the second race tells a different story.

Modern engineering seems to squeeze a little more power out of the 2012 ZL1 between gears, and it shows. Midway through the race, the 2012 Camaro pulls on its forefather.

But really, this race is more about the showcasing of horsepower and torque, and the immense speed achieved. Nonetheless, check out the video for yourself right down below.
