Stevenson Motorsports Camaro Z/28.R Holds Off Multimatic Mustang BOSS 302 For Win At Laguna Seca

Corvette Racing may have failed to put the C7.R on the podium during the Monterey Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this past weekend, but Stevenson Motorsports made sure the Camaro Z/28.R made it to the winner’s circle during Saturday’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race at the track.

Robin Liddell crossed the finish line in the No. 6 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro Z/28.R .552-seconds ahead of Billy Johnson in the No. 15 Multimatic Ford Mustang Boss 302R for the win. The race ran clean for the majority of its two-hour 30-minute duration, however the Mustang took tires during a late-race caution, giving Liddell a lead over the Mustang for the restart.

Liddell, who shares his No. 6 Z/28.R ride with Andrew Davis, currently tops the driver’s standings the series’ Grand Sport class with 67 points. Third place finishers at Laguna Seca, Matt and Hugh Plumb of Rum Bum Racing, trail them with 65 points.

The series will head to New York for the Continental Tire 150 at The Glen on June 25-27.
