According to the seller’s description, this rare (1 of 598) 1940 Cadillac LaSalle Convertible on eBay “has had a nut and bolt frame off restoration with no expense spared… runs and drives as good as it looks, and handles like you wouldn’t believe.” Sounds like a dream.
The description of this custom hotrod states that the vehicle utilizes an all-steel frame, and was built with both new and original parts. It features a sharp-looking Cavern Green paint job that looks great with the white wall tires. The interior is new, finished in a posh Tan Mocha leather.
Under the hood is a Ford Flathead V8 (travesty!) mated to a three-speed transmission. Some of the original Cadillac components are the intake and exhaust manifolds, the carburetor, and hubcaps.
Other features include:
- New stock wheels
- Ford flathead V8 engine
- 3-speed transmission
- Original heads and intake
- Original carburetor
- Walker radiator
- Stock suspension and steering
- Oversize camshaft
- Dual exhaust
- Emergency brake

LOL…Mr Cruz is mistaken about the engine in the 40 Cadillac LaSalle big time…;o) That is the original 346 cubic inch engine in the Caddy…not a little 239 cubic inch Ford flathead.
