Twin brothers Mike and Jeff Howe are the owners of Howe and Howe Technologies, a company which specializes in developing off-road vehicles. This is the company Hollywood asked to create The Peacemaker, a special, high-speed track vehicle in Mad Max: Fury Road, which takes place 45 years after the collapse of civilization.
The brothers grew up in the Mad Max era, and were fans of the movie series as kids. They were thrilled to get a chance to make one of their childhood dream vehicles. Then again, who wouldn’t want to build a 1,000 horsepower track-vehicle? That’s right, 1000 ponies. This hunk of metal, which is essentially a tank with some serious weight reduction, is powered by a blown 502 Big Block V8 and has a top speed of 70 mph. That may not seem fast in a car, but in a tank that’s pretty dang fast.
Even more impressive is that Howe and Howe Technologies had The Peacemaker fully built and were testing it within a four-month time span. Watch how it all came together in the video below.
