We get it. Every die-hard muscle car enthusiast swears by nothing other than the good ‘ol V8 engine. And rightfully so. General Motors’ small-block V8 has become known as a powerful, reliable and affordable engine for any build. That includes the 6.2-liter LT1 to grace the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro.
But today, we have the 2016 Camaro sporting its LGX 3.6-liter V6 engine, and it’s no slouch. 330 hp and 289 lb-ft of torque are numbers for any true enthusiast to respect, especially coming from a sublime platform like Alpha. Let’s call this iteration of the 2016 Camaro, the hustle car.
Chevrolet Performance invites us to jump in for a point-of-view lap of Belle Isle, where the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was unveiled in the sheetmetal merely days ago. 2016 Camaro prototypes were on hand to drive, following the reveal day, and might we say, that V6 sounds pretty good.
GM V6s aren’t normally known for that aggressive growl some foreign V6s attain but this, this sounds angry. No, not V8 “angry,” but mighty aggressive for a V6.
So, jump in, buckle up, and have a look at how the 2016 Camaro looks, and sounds, around Belle Isle.

How sad the people at jalopnik crashed it
Jalopnik are idiots! The only ones to crash a Camaro on a slow, controlled course. Fake auto journalists.
Glad to see GM kicked the Jalopnik writer out of the event after he wrecked their car. Funny seeing him outside on a road begging like a little boy. Really funny.
I was pleasantly surprised by this. Now, any one know if the four banger will sound nice at all?
Is it me or is that camera mounted to high so it makes me think that the visibility is a little easier to see out of the car?
