Hennessey (Briefly) Lets The HPE1000 Corvette Stingray Loose On The Track

Just the other day we saw the crew at Hennessey Performance Engineering strap the 2015 HPE1000 C7 Corvette to the dyno. The result of 847 hp and 720 lb-ft of torque was faintly ludicrous.

Since then, we’ve been eyeing HPE’s YouTube channel like hungry hawks, waiting to get to get another taste of the tire-melting monster. Yet the tuning company hasn’t been too keen on releasing the whole hog all at once, it has provided us with yet another tasty morsel to chew on.

Though the new video is all too brief, clocking it at just 30-seconds, it does a good job of illustrating the sheer insanity of the HPE1000.

First Second Impressions? This thing sounds a chainsaw cutting threw thunder and we’ve no doubt the company could blindfold a few potential customers and sell them an HPE1000 C7 Corvette on sound alone.

The HPE1000 Corvette Stingray impresses us as an angry maniac, and you can catch every last second of the action below.

A far-too-tall Ontarian who likes to focus on the business end of the auto industry, in part because he's too tall to safely swap cogs in a Corvette Stingray.
