CNBC Goes For A Ride In The 2016 Camaro With Dan Ammann: Video

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is scheduled to make its big debut in Detroit on Saturday, but CNBC’s Phil LeBeau got an exclusive sneak peak at Chevy’s latest pony car by showing up to Belle Isle a day early.

General Motors president Dan Amman and LeBeau briefly discussed the current state of General Motors and what the Camaro means to the brand before taking it out on the soaking Detroit Grand Prix track at Belle Isle. For whatever reason, Chevrolet didn’t have a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 equipped 2016 Camaro on hand, but took LeBeau out in the V6 powered version with a manual transmission.

CNBC’s video feed fell victim to Detroit’s stormy weather before Ammann and LeBeau could complete their test drive, but the video atleast gives a small peak at the model’s interior and a taste of its rather raspy-sounding exhaust note. Check it out below and stay tuned to GM Auhtority as more info on the 2016 Camaro becomes available.

  2. A great American car.

Too bad we in Canada can never make something like this… We once built it in Oshawa, but we seem to have even screwed that up since it is no more.

    Good luck, GM!
