C5 Corvette Wrecked, Jail Time Ensues: Accident Watch

As drivers, we take not only the responsibility of the machine when climbing behind the wheel, but every single motorist we share the roads with. For some, the responsibility is too much. Luckily, this accident ended in no loss of life.

Corvette Blogger reports a yellow C5 Corvette was spotted doing the likes of over 100 mpg on highway 169 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was reported the car was spotted by local police earlier in the night at those high rates of speed, and it didn’t take long before police received reports of a yellow Corvette involved in a wreck.

As you can see, the C5 Corvette in toast, with its yellow exterior absolutely torn from the car, and the rear wheel is hanging loose. And not in the gnar-gnar way surfers signal via a hand motion. Police say the C5 Corvette crashed through a fence before hurdling into a group of trees. The driver suffered a broken leg, but did not receive any life threatening injuries.

The passenger, who happened to own the C5 Corvette, is now heading to jail after walking away from the accident. Police say the passenger had quite a few outstanding warrants tied to his name, and was taken into custody immediately.

We’ve said it once, we’ll say it again. Save this behavior for your local drag strip or road course. We all love exercising our vehicles, but there’s a time and a place.
