The wait’s almost over, Camaro fans. The sixth-generation of Chevy’s pony car is set to debut at Belle Isle in Detroit Saturday afternoon following a day full of Camaro related activities and celebrations, and GM Authority will be on hand to bring you all the important info as it happens.
Saturday’s Camaro festivites will start at 8:30 a.m. when more than 350 Camaros will descend upon Detroit’s island park and parade around the Detroit Grand Prix road course. Attendees will then be able to tour a museum of historic Camaro models, get hot laps in a fifth-generation Z/28, and drive other current Chevrolet products.
Available spots for attending the exclusive Camaro reveal were filled within hours of the invitation being sent out, with 2,400 Camaro fans currently sitting on the waiting list. If you’re one of them, you may follow May 16th’s events online as Chevy provides live updated on thecamarosix.com. More info will also be available on the Facebook page (facebook.com/chevycamaro) and on Twitter using the ‘#CAMAROSIX’ hashtag.
“The response really speaks to the passion owners have for Camaro,” Camaro lead marketing manager Todd Christensen said in a statement. “I wish we could accommodate more people on Belle Isle, but we are limited by space for the reveal itself. For those fans on the wait list, Chevrolet will send them an exclusive sneak-preview of the new Camaro just before the rest of the world sees it at the reveal
Full product info on the 2016 Camaro along with official photography will be posted to camarosixmedia.com, but GM Authority will have all the info you need, along with some live photos.
