About four days ago the 2016 Cadillac CT6 was spotted in Germany. We wonder if its appearance intimidated any of its direct competitors over in Germany, because it’s not every day they would see such a large Cadillac out in the open with a swirly guise.
We’re sure this is just business as usual, with development finally taking place on Germany’s Autobahn and perhaps even das ‘Ring. We won’t speculate on that, but we would sure love for that to be the case. The release of the 2016 CT6 is slowly approaching for those who are anxious to place their order on the new, sleek and cutting-edge Cadillac. For now, check out these images of the CT6 taken by a spotter over at Auto Gespot.

/V/ version??
It is not that it seems …
Please no more ruining cars with Nürburgring. Where’s the comfort?
You’ve never heard of variable suspension settings, have you?
Now seeing it in the wild with the uncovered lights and LEDs, I see a lot of Elmiraj inspiration.
Cadillac better start worring about their sales in the USA . Just read an article that showed sales of luxury cars here at home and all 3 German marques are outselling Cadillac by huge numbers , even Lexus is doing alot more business . I’m sure that the sighting of the CT6 in Germany doesn’t scare their automakers at all . Now , I’m not saying that it isn’t a good car but just how long are the Germans going to be allowed to eat Cadillacs lunch . But of course there is going to be the crowd that always says ” just wait ” till 2020 . And in the meantime sales continue to plummet here at home . The CT6 has a big job ahead , trying to keep Cadillac afloat . The ” vision ” of what is to come . Its depressing to see the sales numbers so low with 2 new cars on the market that wont sell . So , as we get closer to model change-over call the firemen because ther is a fire sell coming soon at Cadillac to clear thei inventory . JMO
Just for the record:
• the car actually did test on the Nürburgring — the images are identified as “Spotted in: Nürburg, Germany”, and in one of the images one sees the car in front of the road sign indicating the “Zufahrt Nordschleife”, i.e. “Entry to the Northern Loop”, the “Northen Loop” meaning the original 22 km long race track as built in the 1930ies as opposed to the much shorter Formula 1 racetrack which was built in the southern edge of the ring in the 1980ies and opened in 1984.
• The car is wrapped in camouflage which I consider strange for a car which was unveiled publicly a month before at the New York International Auto show.
• The car carries a US state Michigan licence plate with “041 m B52” and not a German GG licence plate as all other GM cars which are being tested in Germany, and this by the Opel development center located at Rüsselsheim in the country “Groß Gerau”, hence the “GG” location code in the licence plate.
Final remark: why should anybody be intimidated by the appearance of that car?
So there is now 1 CT6 in Germany.
And that will be it.
Because this thing will never ever sell in Europe.
The ATS and CTS sales are dropping in double digits in the US, because the a&s style is so 2008.
The CT6 will make the ELR look like a sales canon.
And in 2020 nothing is going to happen for Cadillac in Europe.
They will try it for 3 months, see that nobody cares about Cadillac and certainly nobody will ever buy a Cadillac, and they will leave again.
I do think that those CT6 will sell in Europe. Not as a direct competition to Audi/BMW/Mercedes, but in smaller numbers because it is something exotic, showing to be different from the masses, and because it is USAnian. There is a certain attractiveness for identifying with the USofA as the country controlling all oceans with their innumerable aircraft carrier fleets, their killer drones on all continents, and the huge arsenbal of nuclear bombs.
In online media here in Germany, I see quite frequently little ads saying “You know our name. Now get to know our cars”, and if I remember correctly, those ads show this strange Cadillac logo, but not the name.
2016 CT6……………..2020 CT8.
I presume after Chevrolet announced that many 2016 models would support Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Cadillac would integrate this feature on the new CT6? I mean if a Spark has it, it stands to reason that this halo new model should have it too, doesn’t I?
I think Cadillac/GM never had the patience required to build a solid brand awareness over the years , as the Europeans and Japanese did with their prestige products Sticking with design concepts , refining , evolving and raising customer satisfaction such that the brand awareness became a status symbol supreme . Cadillac , impatiently, just throws out new models here and there , becoming a hit or miss affair . Discontinued or poor selling models litter the landscape , as a result , brand awareness appears to be only a fleeting memory to the older buyer and hardly a hiccup to the young professional buyers !
