Thailand has emerged as an important market for the Chevrolet brand, where the Chevrolet Colorado and Trailblazer enjoy strong sales, and new customers. The Asian market was once based on price alone, but now, customers are looking for more features, appearance packages, and customization as their work trucks also become lifestyle vehicles.
That’s why Chevrolet has announced it has expanded its 2015 Chevrolet Colorado lineup to include four new configurations. That brings the running total to nine different configurations for the 2015 Colorado in the Asian market.
Spearheaded by the strong receptions of the 2015 Colorado High Country, the 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel is now available in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive guise.
A 2.5-liter two-wheel drive variant also joins the lineup in both crew, and extended cab configurations.
“The pickup truck segment in Thailand used to be driven by price alone, but now these customers are just as interested in appearance packages, options and convenience features. That’s because pickup truck drivers no longer use their vehicles exclusively for work. They also use them for lifestyle activities and want their truck to reflect their personality,” said Una Tan, Marketing Director, Chevrolet Sales Thailand.
Chevrolet hopes this approach will make the bowtie brand a no-brainer option, offering features not seen on the 2015 Colorado’s chief competitors at a lower price.
The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado starts at 495,000 Baht, or $14,826 USD.
