1986 Pontiac Grand Prix Aerocoupe Pays Tribute To ‘The King’

Another 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 Aerocoupe was recently posted for sale on eBay for just under $6,000. The car is said to be a tribute to the retired NASCAR driver Richard Petty, aka “The King.”

Only 1,200 Grand Prix Aerocoupes were ever produced, and this rare specimen is made even more exclusive by the tribute decals. The seller stated that decals could possibly be one of a kind. The ad listing also states that the decals have some cracking and sun fade, but we think it gives it the car a sweet vintage look.

With a clean and clear title, winter-free history, and relatively low milage, this Pontiac is the perfect collector’s item. What’s even more cool about the car is that you can still actually drive it, rather than use it solely as a form of art. It’s got all the conveniences you would want in a weekend cruiser, despite its age.

If you were hoping to snag this up, you’re too late, the car is no longer available. We think it’s safe to say someone jumped on the opportunity to pick this thing up, it’s not too often you find a car like this so fairly priced.

A car-loving millennial. We Are!
