This Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme reminds us of the classic ugly-girl-turned-hot-girl movie/TV trope. Y’know, where the “ugly” girl suddenly drops her hair and takes off the glasses and then–poof!–it turns out she’s actually a knockout?
Well, after this video you’ll feel the same about the fourth-generation Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, a car that’s never felt a whole lotta’ love due its highly smog-choked engines.
However, the owner of this 1982 Cutlass Supreme Coupe clearly saw the G-body’s untapped potential and decided to completely overhaul the car in 2013.
In went a supercharger that feeds 15 pounds of boost to a 6.6L, 403 cubic-inch LS2 built by Lingenfelter Performance, while a 4L70E transmission helps puts all that power to the ground… through four-wheels.
Did we forget to mention this previously-RWD Cutlass now sends its power to all four wheels? Because it does. And it’s fantastically awesome.
With all this under its boxy G-body, this Cutlass is apparently runs the quarter mile in the 10’s, passing through the lights at around 130mph.
But, that’s not why were here today. We’re here to show you what all this awesome power does to the rear tires. It’s a gloriously pointless exercise and that’s exactly why it has to be one of favorite burnout videos so far this year.
