Chevrolet plans to maintain the appeal of their mid-size Colorado pickup by introducing different special-edition models with new colors and accessories, like the Colorado GearOn or Trail Boss, for example. But those limited edition models will be widely available from most Chevy dealerships, unlike the Dale Earnhardt tribute Colorado set to go under the gavel at Barrett-Jackson’s upcoming Palm Beach auction later this month.
According to the listing, this tribute truck to one of NASCAR’s greatest ever drivers is and will remain the only one of its kind. It features a two-tone silver and black paint job with a red pinstripe separating the two sections, along with ‘3’ decals and Dale’s reproduced signature on the corner of the bed. The paint scheme is reminiscent of the silver, red and black GM Goodwrench-sponsored cars Earnhardt drove throughout his career.
To ensure the truck truly remains one of a kind, the signatures of Earnhardt’s wife Teresa, his daughter Taylor and his mother Martha are all present on the truck. The 3.6-liter V6 equipped Colorado also has just 70 miles on the odometer, so the winning bidder will be getting a virtually untouched truck, apart from the signatures, of course.
