Although Hummer parted ways with us years ago, it seems there are a few that don’t want to see it totally banished as a memory in our minds. No, this isn’t an actual Hummer with off-road capabilities and a big V8, but it’s the closest thing you can get to a real one.
Enter the 2013 MEV Hummer HXT, a miniature, pure electric take on the classic Hummer design. MEV, or My Electric Vehicle, started producing luxury golf carts in 2006 and began to grow rapidly. After disconcerting build quality from third-party suppliers, the company spun off and formed as its own independent division. The company has been developing its own family of luxury electric vehicles ever since, including the Hummer you see here.
This 2013Â Hummer is a mini representation of what we used to know. To give you an idea of its size, the vehicle only measures 118 inches long, and 57 inches tall. But hey, it does take the classic design of Hummer and apply it quite well.
Powering the mini Hummer is a 72-volt drive system, allowing drivers to prowl 30 miles with the lead battery, and 60 miles if the lithium-ion option is ticked. There’s also an AC brushless motor with a 300 amp controller, providing punchy acceleration due to the instant torque feedback.
You can check out the Hummer down below in the video we’ve provided as it crawls around parking lots with a bit of trendy dubstep music for added flair.
