With 650 angry horses on tap, few would argue the 2015-2016 Corvette Z06 is underpowered. But, if you’re a Z06 owner with a penchant for the insane, well, you’re in luck: tuners are creeping out of the woodwork like a cluster of hungry house spiders and they’re ready to feed on your engine bay.
Whether you go with a Henneessey package, a boost from Callaway, or a tune by Vengeance Racing, there are plenty of tuning outfits perfectly willing to turn your cash into horsepower.
Now, Texas tuning shop Late Model Racecraft has also thrown its hat into the ring and, like the others, it’s keen to leave the rest of the tuners behind in a haze of billowy tire smoke.
Let’s be clear here–this isn’t just a friendly horsepower battle; it’s an all out war.
In the video below we get a look at LMR’s latest project, Corvette Z06 complete with a color job from Atlanta Custom Wraps. LMR fitted the car with its Stage II tuning package, which adds a custom-grind camshaft, American Racing long-tube headers and a few other goodies, raising total power to 750 rwhp on boost only.
The team also fitted a custom nitrous system that squirts in a 250 hp shot (LMR’s thing, if you haven’t noticed), temporarily boosting output to 1,000 hp and 964 lb-ft of torque.
“This thing is an absolute torque monster and just blows the tires off,” says LMR co-owner Steven Fereday. “Beautiful car to drive; you will enjoy it.”
