General Motors Canada dealers delivered 21,027 new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles in March 2015, a decrease of 3.5 percent compared to March 2014.
“Our three truck strategy of mid-size, light duty and heavy duty trucks was designed to provide our customers with a full range of options and choices in pickup trucks to suit their individual needs. This positioned us well to respond to this month’s continued strong customer demand for pickup trucks”, said John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada. “Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks grew their sales in March, with month over month increases for the Chevrolet Silverado (14 percent) and GMC Sierra (11 percent) and the all-new Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon mid-size pickups are continuing to grow their place in the Canadian market.”
March highlights (vs. March 2014, except as noted):

too many cars and not enough competitive sleek looking CUVs . The competition is huge in the Honda CRV , Ford Escape and a slew of models from Kia , Hyundai , VW , BMW , Lexus etc , etc ! Canada gets 5 months of winter type driving , AWD is popular and getting more so as perhaps global warming is creating some monster snow storms , even down to the latitude of the New york City line country wide ! Stop with GM having three divisions carrying cars on same bodies . CAR sales will keep slowing in that segment and, dealers left with more dying or dead stock . Maintaining a strong price structure becomes impossible . Solution , wake up and smell the roses , GM , you are still smelling the weeds….let it go !!!
