Five Things We Like About The 2016 Cadillac CT6

Cadillac dropped their highly anticipated 2016 CT6 at the New york International Auto Show this week. There’s lots of exciting new things on the full-size luxury sedan, but we’ve managed to compile five of our favorite features for your reading pleasure.
1. New And Improved Cadillac CUE System With Touchpad
Not all Cadillac customers were happy with the first-generation CUE system, so for the 2016 CT6, the automaker improved it. The interface has been revised and is now displayed on a larger 10.2-inch touch screen that is capable of recognizing handwriting movements for searching addresses and points of interest. A center-console mounted touchpad also makes scrolling the menus easier and provides haptic feedback when scrolling through the menu icons. Our first impression of the system when we used it was that it was a large improvement.
2. Optional Four-Wheel Steering
Another feature of the CT6 we like is its available Active Chassis System. The system adds rear-wheel steering to the CT6, improving the full-size sedan’s maneuverability and agility to the point where it feels like a mid-size, Cadillac says. At low speeds, the front and rear wheels will turn in opposite directions of each other to make for a shorter turning radius and at high speeds they will turn in unison to improve handling.
3. Cadillac Exclusive 3.0L Twin Turbocharged V6 Engine
An executive luxury sedan like the CT6 deserves to have its own engine. We were elated to find out the CT6 would receive an optional Cadillac-exclusive 3.0-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine that has a best-in-class 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The engine should also provide good fuel economy returns and we’re betting it’s even more refined than the 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged LF3 engine employed in the CTS Vsport.
4. Bose 34 Speaker Audio System
A true luxury car also needs to have a good audio system. The CT6’s will be better than good. With 34 Bose Panaray speakers, listening to music in the CT6 will be an impressive experience. Bose says the system integrates technologies and design elements from their home entertainment and professional audio products to deliver more clarity, precision, and deep bass than any other sound system preceding it.
5. Electronically Adjustable Rear Seats
The rear seats in the CT6 will have plenty of room for most customers, but if you’re a bit taller than most, you can adjust the seats using an electronic switch located on the center armrest between the chairs. This should ensure everyone, short and tall, young and old, will be comfortable in the CT6, no matter if they are in the front seats or the back. Even less expensive full-size luxury cars like the Kia K900 are equipped with this feature, so it was a must on the CT6.

The title in #4 has a typo. It should say “audio” not “audi”
Thanks! It’s fixed.
I expect to see these technologies trickle down the GM line, into Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC. As other feature s have done (ABS, EPS, TPMS, and more) , GM will share these technologies among the expensive and the common vehicles, hybrid, gas or electrics, too.
