The Goodwood Festival of Speed attracts some of the world’s most legendary racecars to the estate of Lord Charles March in West Sussex, England, and that includes NASCAR Sprint Cup cars. This year, two notable Chevrolet stock cars will bring the distinct V8 roar of NASCAR to the usually sleepy British town of Chichester thanks to Richard Childress Racing.
Dale Earnhardt’s No. 3 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo will be shipped overseas to attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed, along with Austin Dillon’s current No. 3 DOW Chevrolet SS. Kerry Earnhardt will be behind the wheel of Dale’s famous No. 3 car, while Bobby Labonte will drive Austin Dillon’s ride.
The Monte Carlo is the same car Earnhardt drove at Atlanta Motor Speedway, beating Labonte by just 0.01 seconds. Engine builder and RCR employee Danny Lawrence, a consistent supporter of the Festival of Speed, will look after the two Chevy stock cars during their time at the event.
The 2015 Goodwood Fetival of Speed will kick off on June 25 and will run through to the 28th. Check out the event’s website for additional information on this year’s festivities.
