Earlier this month we shared with you the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado which was painted in a familiar Dale Earnhardt scheme, signed by his family members and set to be sold off Barrett Jackson’s Palm Beach auction. BJ Palm Beach has now come and gone, and can you guess how much the Dale Earnhardt tribute truck sold for?
Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, the Newton, North Carolina-based dealership which commissioned the one-off Colorado, received $48,400 for the truck. It’s not the six-figure sum we expected, but it’s a good chunk of change for a Colorado.
In case you need reminding, the Dale Earnhardt Colorado was done up in a silver, red and black paint scheme, similar to Earnhardt’s GM Goodwrench cars, and signed by his wife Teresa, his daughter Taylor and his mother Martha. It’s the only one of its kind in the world, so unless it gets re-listed sometime soon, it will likely remain hidden away in someone’s collection for years to come.

48, 000 – Isn’t that close to MSRP? A local dealer has an extended cab Colorado on the lot for $39K?! Sure it has leather, but come on. Then across the street is an aluminum F150, 4 door, 4×4, 3.5T for about a thousand more. What gives?
I’m surprised someone at GM hasn’t looked at this and sees how good looking it is then try to work a deal to factory replicate them as a trim option.
Had Jr also signed this Colorado, there’s no telling what price might have been paid. Fans of Earndardt, the drivers, are numerous and loyal to the extremes. Fans of Earnhardt, the wife and step mommy, not so much.
