Corvette DPs Occupy Four Of Top Five Positions In Long Beach Qualifying

Corvette DPs dominated the qualifying session at Long Beach Friday, earning four of the top five positions for start of the short sprint race. Wayne Taylor Racing’s Ricky Taylor bested the rest of the field with a time of 1:14.790 (94.729 mph), edging out Ford driver Scott Pruett by 0.258 seconds.
In behind Pruett was Christian Fittipald in the Action Express Racing No.5 Mustang Sampling Corvette DP with a lap of 1:15.274 (94.120 mph), followed by Michael Valiante in VisitFlorida.com Racing’s No.90 Corvette DP. Action Express’ second car, the No. 31 Whelen Engineering/Team Fox Corvette DP, qualified fifth with a time of 1:15.915 (93.325 mph) in the hands of Eric Curran.
