Cadillac officially announced 2016 Cadillac CTS-V pricing yesterday, and General Motors’ fastest production vehicle will set you back a cool $83,995. But, as we detailed in the official announcement, that’s quite the value proposition.
The 2016 CTS-V undercuts the similarly equipped Mercedes-Benz by an extreme $18,630, and even BMW’s ultimate driving machine by $9,605. That won’t stop some Cadillac V-series faithful from sticker shock, as the 2016 CTS-V’s price is a tad more than even past CTS-V customers are used to.
To wit, the outgoing CTS-V could be attained for less than $70,000. But, as many will attest, it wasn’t the complete package. It lacked the interior quality of its rivals, and lacked the presence of a proportionate wheelbase to the likes of the BMW M5, but still carried a lot of weight. Regardless, it remains a favorite among many performance enthusiasts.
But, 640 hp from the latest LT4 6.2-liter supercharged V8Â (nearly 100 hp more than before), a rifle-quick 8-speed automatic transmission and a 200 mph top speed have us ready to pile our pennies together and start carpooling. Though you may disagree. However you feel, be sure to participate in our poll and sound off in the comments.

Ok Cadillac , advertise the hell out of it . If I was so lucky not to be house poor ,I’d sign up in a heart beat . I want to see a commercial where this car sneaks up on the Mercedes and the Bimmer and you see in the rear view mirror the car smokin’ the Germans leavin them in the dust . Is it worth the price , its better than the previous model so I’d have to say yes .
Perfect price but should have the CUE we’ve seen in the CT6
I don’t know. It is a beautiful car. It may be in line with the competition. But i feel like its still too high – especially since it doesn’t offer the nostalgia that beamers and mercs do. Im talking about the nostalgia that makes someone 7 years down the road want it that badly still. I just haven’t seen that from a caddy yet… and im not willing to fork out 90g for something that will de-value that fast…
But hey, all in all… A beautiful focus driven car. It will be a head turner for sure. Would love to test drive. Perhaps a lease would be a better fit? Looking forward to see on the road!
Well here is the deal. This car is much cheaper than the competition that also depreciate at a higher than normal rate.
Second you want a better car you have to pay for it. Cadillac will continue to get better but it will also get more expensive.
Third If you want higher profits at lower volumes the price is right. The whole point is this is not a car just anyone can buy and that is what adds to the exclusiveness. The built in profit takes care of the lower volume so the bottom line is GM will still make a hearty profit on a lower volume of cars.
The acceptance and image will be built but it takes time and continued improvement and new models. BMW took years to be seen as they are in America. In the 60’s they were not really anything anyone wanted. The Audi of the 70’s was seen as a expensive VW with 5 cylinders that rusted out and was expensive to fix.
Also even in the lower classes Hyundai was nothing but trash in the 90’s. But 15-20 years later people think they are better than sliced bread.
You can not make people love a car but you can make cars people begin to notice and cars they will fall in love with.
You can complain price or numbers vs names but none of that matters. A name never has never made an image for a car but a car has made a image for a name. Same for price. Make it too cheap then you end up with less of a car that is owned by people that will not enhance your image.
Like a Rolex. You can own a real one or a fake cheap one. The real one will enhance your image where the fake one will make you out that you are a fraud.
This car and the ATs will see improvements soon as the new management has not even been there a year. The next two years we should see changes in them and we are just now seeing the movement in marketing I even got an April E mail from Cadillac.
In the end if this car is too expensive for you then you are not Cadillac material.
I’m want to see how Cadillac better and better their cars up to a level that will impress
Have already passed the point of no return, do it; or not to.
I like that right price of the cadillac cts-v 2016 car is cheaper to European rivals among them are: bmw m5, mercedes-benz e63 amg, audi s6/rs6 and jaguar xfr/xfr-s. I would like that this car cadillac cts-v 2016 tasted it on the road and on the track of austin texas so as they tried it the cadillac ats-v coupe / sedan 2016.
” In the end if this car is to expensive for you then you are not Cadillac material ” ? Seriously !? This is a ” specialty car ” ( meant for the 1 tenth of 1% ) and not for common folk . But Cadillac does build other vehicles that sell to the upper middle class . I’ve owned 5 Cadillacs in my life time . So by your gross mis-statement I am not Cadillac material . That has to be the most uninformed comment I think I have ever read on this forum . You may want to educate yourself on Cadillacs complete fleet of vehicles that they sell . =)
Just a quick question ,,,,,,,,, What praytell is your definition of Cadillac Material ?
the car needs to be in the 70-80 k range. Throw the car away GM with a lease. I will buy!!!
