Chevrolet FNR Concept: Hot Or Not?

Yesterday, Chevrolet surprised Auto Shanghai 2015 with the latest idea of where mobile transportation may head in the years to come. The Chevrolet FNR, or Find New Roads, concept showcases a host of future technology that wouldn’t seem out of place in a science fiction movie.

The concept is the work of GM’s Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) joint venture, and includes a completely electric powertrain with capability for wireless charging. Connectivity was a major focal point on the concept, too, which is why the vehicle is totally autonomous. The Chevrolet FNR concept achieves this through roof-mounted sensors to map the road ahead. Though, a manual override may be selected via gesture control support should you want to take the reins of the vehicle.

In terms of design, the vehicle features a capsule-like look, with the capability for passengers to swivel their chairs 180 degrees to converse with those in the rear. The Chevrolet FNR also sports some pretty wicked “dragonfly” doors.

Now, we ask you: is this what you imagine future transport to embody? Or is it a bit to overwhelming for your tastes? Let us know in the poll and comments down below.
