2016 C7 Corvette Stingray Welcomes New Exterior, Interior Changes

Chevrolet is updating the Corvette C7 for the 2017 model year, with a bevy of new interior and exterior additions. In fact, the 2016 Corvette Stingray sees many of the same packages and equipment options as seen on the 2016 Corvette Z06 trickle down to the more well-behaved Stingray.

For instance, Velocity Yellow and Crystal Red Tintcoat are replaced by Corvette Racing Yellow and Long Island Red Metallic Tintcoat. Inside, red or yellow stitching may be applied to any Corvette with the 3LT trim optioned with black interior, and new two-tone GT seats — in either gray or red and either leather or suede — become available.

Other changes to the 2016 Corvette Stingray are a new standard wheel design in silver, black or machined chrome. A new “carbon-flash badge delete” rids the 2016 Corvette Stingray of the chrome bar on the front grille while a carbon-fiber hood, which may be had with any color on the 2016 Corvette Stingray, features a visible weave section.

Every 2016 Corvette Stingray now leaves the factory with a flat-bottom steering wheel, and Magnetic Ride Control is available as a free-flow option on any 2016 Corvette.

The 2016 Corvette Stingray will also offer three new design packages to offer customers more choices for a tailored look and feel of their Corvette. Chevy says that each gives the vehicle a distinctive, customized appearance that reflects the different roles the Corvette plays in different customers’ experiences – from high-performance to grand touring. The packages include Twilight Blue, Spice Red, and Jet Black Suede, as follows.

  1. Today more than ever, Corvette calls to a have their own division for sells in the complete world with more refinement; class; luxury and exclusivity.

  2. With these upgrades any C7 will in most cases be your best buy. I agree Corvette should have a more exclusive manner.

  4. I thought the new RED was going to be called Long Beach Red!

  5. The only option I want to see is something that isn’t so disgustingly ugly on the rear end. No gansta tears, better looking taillights, no Pepboys reflecting tape, and no 45% black bottom fascia.

    1. I agree. Rearend keeping me from buying one!

    2. Obviously longtimer is too much of a broke ass to own a Vette… also shows how little you actually know about corvettes. Enjoy driving something more up your alley like a used Mazda miata… I rather enjoy my 2016 stingray and get eye fucked by every chick that sees me drive by them in it lol….

  6. Nothing can come close to a Corvette in performance and style for almost double the price. Porsche’s are so old looking and cramped, with NO room for anything, and by the time you get one half way decently equipped, the price is up 30K, same for Viper’s. They may not be perfect, but they are an American Icon and I cannot think of a better way to spend 65-100K. Just sold my tricked out C-6 after 4 years for only 4 K less than I paid for it, and am anxiously awaiting my 2016 Z-51! I do wish GM would offer customer service like Lexus – for Corvette owners – flagships should have rewards.

  7. I have a new 2016 Stingray base in -blade silver- with black factory rims/black emblems/red calipers/black interior/Michelin runflats. The look of my car is attention-getting –to say the least. Factory black parts I mentioned make the car look like mods guys will do after they buy and replace parts with the current styling—-very smart Chevy. I see a lot of envy from other current trendy car owners–I can just see the “Oh I screwed up , I should have gotten –that(my)– ‘Vette” look on their faces. The experience of seeing the fenders from the driver’s seat, the power, the chill ride/technology, and the admiring looks/comments from women —-fantastic. Best purchase I’ve ever made.
