Even though quite a bit of focus has been placed on the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, Chevrolet hasn’t forgotten about its Silverado. Though, falling in line with the latest strategy for the Colorado, an influx of special editions has been introduced on the Silverado nameplate.
Today, Chevrolet has added another new special edition with the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport HD. Chevrolet calls the design a “sophisticated monochromatic look,” in which the truck receives body-colored front and rear bumpers, a body-colored grille with chrome-accent bars, chrome door handles and body-side moldings, and chrome-accented trailering mirrors.
It’s a fresh take on the evolutionary styling the truck was bestowed with upon its latest generation, and gives a new alternative for those who may not be interested in the chrome look up front.
Silverado 2500 HD Custom Sports feature 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, while Silverado 3500 Custom Sports are optioned with a set of 18-inch aluminum wheels. The special edition adds $700 to $1,695 to the price of either an LT or LTZ trim. If you were hoping for a vast color palette though, you’ll have to look elsewhere. You can have the Custom Sport in any color you’d like, as long as its black or white.
Chevrolet has announced dealers may begin placing orders for the special edition immediately.

When I bought my Silverado.. chrome wheels and chrome this and that which I still don’t like
Everyone needs to calm down with the downvotes. Frances has an opinion which they can state. What’s the purpose of open online forums if people can’t discuss what they think? I am a GM fanboy but that doesn’t mean I hate people that have opinions against GM. If the statements are not bashful why care?
This is a very minor example but I have just been noticing a lot of downvotes/dislikes lately.
That’s not hate for France’s personally. It’s just that he has an unpopular opinion that isn’t shared with many people on GMA.
It’s not a measure of his likability or as a measure of any personal attacks on him. His opinion are simply unpopular on GMA, as not all opinions are deserving of equal standing or respect when in the court of public opinion.
Chevy is “special editioning” so much its hard for dealers to stock anymore. Silverado is available in WT. WT with an appearance package, LS, LT, LT with a package like Texas Editon/Allstar/Customer Sport, Trailer MAX, LTZ, LTZ Premium package, and High Country. Not to mention all the many color an powertrain options. I would bet that the possible combinations exceed the actual builds by 10xs. meaning that most possible combos never get built. And when some of them do (by mistake or a dealer WAG (wild-ass-guess) it becomes sale-proof.
Besides a basic work truck (WT), all they really need is LS (Good), LT (Better), LTZ (Best), and maybe a ultra-premium like High Country . Trying to “Custom” a truck from the factory for a consumer is foolish and it’s not “custom” anyhow unless the buyer chooses the pieces they want to individualize it themselves. Simplification is needed in models not this proliferation of factory special edition “custom” models.
