When Roadster Shop unveiled its 1970 Rampage Chevrolet Camaro at the 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas, we felt it should have walked away with “Most Insane Build.” Alas, no such award is presented at the specialty show, but Roadster Shop, please accept it from us in form of imagination anyways.
The 1970 Rampage Camaro arrived with General Motors’ LS7 7.0-liter crate engine, always a good place to strart. Roadster Shop then went even further to upgrade the engine with Harrop crossram injection and a Motec engine management system. The power is then sent through a race-ready five-speed Jericho transmission.
On paper it all sounds fantastic, but Roadster Shop has provided us a quick video of just how angry this machine is. Before they send it off to the dyno for tuning and power numbers, they decided to give us a quick taste of its loud and angry exhaust tone. These are noises to keep up any street-legal vehicle at night.
We could continue describing the hellish bark for you, but you’re better off listening for yourself. Hopefully you’re near a restroom, because, yeah…
